Note: This was an insane race that rolled through the hills of West Feliciana Parish, starting in St. Francisville. The hills were relentless and intense and I rode over one 8 mile gravel road. The entire time I was riding it I kept asking myself over and over what I was doing there. I made it to the first feed zone, which is almost halfway through the course and Rose was there with my food. I decided to call it a day at that point. I will chalk this up as a great training ride and a great experience.
This ride marks the beginning of the next phase of my training plan. I know what my strengths and weaknesses are and I am going to start working hard on them. I need to drop about 20 lbs. before the summer and I'm going to start riding my bike like a madman to do so. I'm excited to be at a point in the year where I can focus heavily on riding.
