I'm feeling a unique mixture of hope, excitement and out-and-out dread on the eve of this historic election. On the one hand I feel confident that John Kerry will pull this thing out. He's the right man for the job and I'm almost positive that most Americans know this in their hearts. But there's still a chance that Bush can slither back into office through one of his devious routes. If this happens it will be very bad for him and for America. It will cause the deepest political divide in American history since the Civil War to sink to levels previously unimaginable. The opposition and resistance will be fierce and the change that will inevitably occur will not be what Karl Rove has in mind.
So come on everybody, let's get out there and vote. If we send out a big majority mandate there is absolutely nothing they can do, short of a military coup, to stay in office. I'm heading to the polls at 6:30am to avoid the lines and I'm bringing my camera with me just in case of any funny stuff. This is an opportunity for us to take our country back from these hijacking, neo-con, chicken hawk bastards. I am confident that the American electorate will capitalize on it and if Bush&Co. try to forcibly take power again, there will be consequences.
Nemo me impune lacesset!
