One Laptop Per Child

Olpc
The One Laptop Per Child project has officially launched. For those unfamiliar with the organization, their goal is to get one handcrank powered, wifi enabled, open source laptop into the hands of every child in the developing world  in order to offer them "opportunities to explore, experiment and express themselves". This year my company, Annunciation Interactive, is giving one laptop in the name of each of our major clients.

For the launch the OLPC is running a get one, give one program where if you buy one of the laptops, they will ship a second one to a child somewhere in the world. Imagine how transformative this could be in a child's life.

Do less, but good

Jerry Seinfeld, "the JD Salinger of television", says to those that wish they saw more of him in recent years, "Me too, but I wonder if they would be willing to accept me being not good. I wish I could do more, too, but I can't do more as good, so I figure I'll do less, but good."

Every business in the world could learn from that idea. In fact, every person in the world could. I wish all of us would make or do less better. It's something we are striving for at Annunciation and something I'd like to practice in my daily life as well.
