Yesterday's morning ride was fantastic. I felt really strong and made it to the coffeeshop, which is my pit-stop before work. I got into the office at about 7:10am and then proceeded to shower and put on clean clothes [1].
The ride home was another story. I was extremely hot and winded the whole ride back. It was one of those rides where you start to think you have a flat or brake problems because all you want to do is stop riding.
I finally got back home and was incredibly weakened and winded. I struggled to get my bike up the stairs.
This morning I'm feeling stronger, but it's drizzling and I used my rain jacket for the first time. Even though it's composed of the latest in breathable materials it's still very hot. I think I'll ditch it on the short ride between the coffeeshop, where I'm writing this, and the office.
The important thing in all of this is that I'm riding again and I'm loving every minute of it!
[1] I started a habit this week where I will bring my clothes for the week to the office on Sunday, along with the other usual supplies that I buy. That way I can shower up and be fresh for the day, rather than a stinking mess. It's very necessary in the Louisiana summer.
