I was reading an article at Design Observer about the poor portrayal of graphic designers in cinema that mentions the upcoming Peter Weir directed screen version of Pattern Recognition. WTF? How did I not hear about this sooner? It's been announced since April.
I'm very happy about this. Pattern Recognition is my favorite Gibson novel in quite a few years and Peter Weir is a skillful director. His adaptation of the Patrick O'Brien novels was masterful. I just hope that this film pans out better than New Rose Hotel or Johnny Mnemonic, two of the schlockiest adaptations I've seen.
