Life begins at 30. - Jeff Archer, my first client and a great mentor.
Today I turned 30. It's a strange feeling, shrugging off an entire decade of struggle, growth, renewal and learning. I'm a much different man now than I was when I turned 20 that's for certain. I'm married, doing very well in my career and I'm very happy in all aspects of my life. Hopefully the next ten years will be all about building on the successes that have come to me through the hard work, determination and cultivation of self that my "twenties" consisted of.
In that spirit I present a list of things I will not miss about those years and that God Willing I will never have to endure again:
Poverty
Final Exams
Bad Art Professors
Egotistical Maniac Bosses who Underpay, Overwork and Generally Act Like Teenage Brats
Smoking Borrowed Ciggarettes
Wallowing in Doubt and Self Pity
Negative Psychedelic Reactions
Service Industry Work
Father Arguments/Trainwrecks/Berations
Art/Cash Conflicts
Working on Borrowed Computers
Hitching Rides from Friends
Scrounging Change
Bad Roommates
Poor Housekeeping Skills
Ramen Noodles
Cheap Hooch
gettin dirty @ 30

Happy Birthday to the man that keeps the rest of us up on pop culture, intellectual pursuits and quality design. I only wish I was 30 and done with the self doubt and poor money management skills. Look forward to learning more...from elders like you!
