It’s been raining for three days straight in the city of New Orleans. Old Metairie is covered in fog outside of the giant corporate windows of my office. Tonight is supposed to be my first real night of Carnival action, catching Muses with Shanna, Sonny and Co. at our usual spot. Thursday night is my only other night off thereafter. It’s event after parade after event until the Big Morning on Shrove Tuesday. If this weather doesn’t clear up it may be one of the bleakest Carnivals we’ve had in years, and the past two have been pretty overcast.
Tonight I’m going to raise my spirits high, rain or shine, and watch my favorite marching bands in my favorite parade of the year. Following that, the weather will have to get better, won’t it?
