Cameron Moll made a great post last week about how he makes type choices for design projects. Basically he keeps a list of typefaces that he's familiar with and chooses a few foreign typefaces and sets the client's tag, name or copy in each of these familiar and foreign faces.
I saw this in action at the Design Eye for the Idea Guy panel at SXSW and immediately thought it was an excellent idea. Check out my list of familiars after the jump...
This idea made me want to create a basic page for testing fonts on a website. Very useful when "shrinking the text" via the browser's controls to see which ones do better at smaller sizes. My sample can be found here:
