Yesterday was an incredible day full of exciting adventures. After an early morning spent grocery shopping at Whole Foods, Shanna and I rode our bikes to City Park to meet up with Rose and Chris for Japan Fest. The festival itself was sort of disappointing but enjoying Japanese treats while listening to Taiko Drums in the park on a beautiful Sunday afternoon was really nice. I had an iced Green Tea while everyone else enjoyed Sushi, Edamame, Teriyaki, and those really cool Japanese sodas with the glass marble in the neck of the bottle.
After resting at home for a while I rode down to the R Bar and met up with a bunch of my Bike Geek friends to watch the Giro d'Italia. Yesterday's stage happened to be a Time Trial, which isn't the most exciting thing to watch but it sure was fun hanging out, drinking beer and talking bikes.
In the evening I watched an incredible documentary on the history of The Carter Family called Will the Circle Be Unbroken. I love listening to A.P., Sara and Maybelle's music so much and it was great to learn about their somewhat sad personal lives.
i went to whole foods today -- they opened like 3 stores in NYC over the past year -- and they are opening a 4th soon. best to go sushi -- and produce -- expensive though.
