I ordered a super-sweet Motobecane Le Champion SL today. It will be my first road bike. I can't wait until she arrives! The good Rev. Willcore will be helping me assemble her next weekend. I also ordered a Cateye cyclometer, some Crank Brothers Candy pedals, and some everyday wheels (the ones that come with the bike are ultralight racing wheels which I can't even ride until I lose another 10 lbs.).
The thing I'm most excited about are increased speed and increased distance which I know will come easily with this bike. Check out the full list of bike geek awesomeness after the jump.

I ordered one on July 1st still haven't seen it but that's another story. How has it worked out for you? Is it a sweet ride? I hope to have one soon.

Jeez!! Waiting since July 1st?? I would have died from anticipation by now. The bike is working out very nicely. I'm riding 100+ miles per week and so far so good. It especially handles well on hills and it's fast as all hell too.
Good luck getting yours.

I ordered my new Le Champion SL on Sun. Aug. 28. It arrived the following Wed. I opened the box, which was unbelievably light, to discover that the seat post (with the seat on it) had slid down inside the box and rubbed some big chunks of paint off the right seat stay. It was worn all the way down to the the metal. It was all I could do to box it back up and send it back for a refund. The bike got stuck in UPS damage assessment hell for about a week, but Bikesdirect finally let me know today that they were refunding my money. In the meantime, I ordered another silver Le Champion SL in my size(52CM) before they sold out. I noticed tonight that that they only had 61CM left in stock, so I'm glad I didn't wait on the refund or I would have missed out on an incredible deal and one beautiful bike. If it gets here before the Music City Tri this Sunday, I'm ridin' it right outta the box without even breakin' it in! It'll be a ride I'll never forget. I'll let you know how it goes.
